Looking forward to getting home to see how the car has come on. With any luck I will make the Hull motor show in it.
Now, if my calculations are correct, when this baby hits eighty-eight miles per hour, you're gonna see some serious s***

Well , been busy all day doing some work on Andy's car. Took off the inlet again and had to drill and tap a new thread in it for one of the vaccume pipes. Got all the water pipes re-routed and put back on , fitted the oil cooler and sandwich plate and had a bit of a general tidy up. All the exhaust side is now finished apart for the turbo oil return which is done but needs fitting tomorrow. All in all it's coming on nicely and hopefully will be done by tomorrow night , leaving only the painting of everything for thursday.

A few pics , nothing much to look at but anyway....

As it was when i stared this morning........

    cooler fitted in place.......

    Sandwich plates fitted........

finished progress today , dont look alot but definately broke the back of most the hard work....

Looking tastey there, certainly coming along now

By the way, arent the oil coolers meant to be fitted on their side?

The oil cooler connections should either be on the side, or at the top. Feeding oil into the bottom of the rad will result in the rad not filling completely with oil and having an air lock in the top.

side is best so that you take take the lower hose off when doing an oil change and drain the cooler matrix

put the cooler outlets facing sideways, feed in top /return at bottom, less work for the oil pump to do

Interesting about the oil cooler positioning, never considered that.

Well after what has been a very busy time for Mike I have been to take a look and get an update. Cant make Hull show and at the moment may not make the first Shakespeare event, but we want it to be right, dont we

Here you can see the fabricated intercooler pipe and the new location for the HKS BOV, its not painted yet, but it gives a good indication as to the intention

Here you can see that the fuel regulator and gauge are fitted

    Intercooler pipe to turbo

Fuel rail now fitted and secure, just waiting on the injector heads now.

Various breather pipes off the plenum

Sprayed intercooler black as I think it looks superb

Here you can see the top quality work done to re-fabricate the cam cover (due to the turbo being too big), the cam covers are now being prepared for paint and are going to look superb once done

Air filter trial fitting with pipe work and turbo blanket
