My fairly standard 33 GTS-T run

Got it on the rollers this morning to sort out the fueling.

The guys at XO Powertuning recon its a really good result considering the only mods are:
-Straight through exhaust
-K&N induction
-Blitz dump valve
-New NGK's
-Apexi Neo
i think thats it....

246HP

(Vids are 5 to 11mb so may take some loading!)

I was hoping for more flameage though!

That's interesting, mine is pretty much the same, apart from an FMIC and TurboSmart eboost EBC but pushing 306bhp., so looks like you're on the good side of pushing more power with little effort. Which is nice!

Good stuff, buddy!

The guys at XO were saying i should get a boost controller so i can up the boost. I told them i dont really want to melt my turbo. They said i what i can do is leave it on standard boost and up it for dyno runs. Doesnt that seem a bit pointless?

I want to go for a bit more "optimisation". Ive got a sraight through and induction to help it breate, nice new plugs, Apexi Neo to help it fuel properly. I wonder what else i can do. Spitfires maybe?

I think my current coil packs are on the way out. I took a visit to a retired mechanic who has a passion for straigh 6's and could hear the missfire a mile away. XO say there isnt any but theres a dip in the graph at just before 4500RPM.

Isn't that the 2 stage boost? Not positive, but thought the 2nd stage kicked in around 4500rpm.

With a boost controller, you can eliminate the 2 stage boost and have a more 'uniformed' power curve. Plus, you can up the boost to a very respectable 0.84 bar, when you feel the need for some more power.

Something to consider.

Check out some of these feature of my boost controller. (No, I don't work for them! )
* Factory Preset Mode provides beginners with an easy start-up option
* Advanced Mode unlocks up to 6 alternate boost mapping functions suitable for FWD, RWD, AWD, Bike and Drag racing needs
* Gear-based Boost Mapping – set a different boost for each gear!
* Boost levels can also be mapped against TIME or RPM.
* Fully programmable auxilary output controls water spray, methanol or nitrous injection against Boost or RPM
* RPM Compensation Feature eliminates boost drop-off at high RPM
* Peak Hold/Max Boost Recall function monitors boost and RPM.
* Display can be configured to KPA, Bar or PSI
* Gate Pressure function eliminates wastegate creep
* e-Boost2’s display is accurate to within +/-0.5% of full scale making it an ideal Boost Gauge!
* Programmable, audible warning alarm
* Integrated input for optional shift/warning lights

hmm sounds interesting essee... i might invest in one... what controller do you have?

i kept the 2 stage boost in because it probably helps with fuel consumption. 85% of my driving is through town so theres not much point for full boost at low revs!

Boost is dependant on throttle opening more than rpm , if you are light on throttle boost wont build up

Mine is the Turbosmart Eboost 2, it was fitted to the car when I bought it. They're Australian, I've seen they're quite expensive and I would have probably gone for something Japanese and cheaper if it was my money. But I can't complain, the settings on this thing are unbelievable. Currently trying to learn how to use it myself.

But yeah, do the important stuff first and then get this as a modification, after you've completed the maintenance tasks.

Have a good shop around for the right one!

Thats not too shabby power wise considering the engine will be on the slightly tired side of things now if being the original lump.

I did a run last year with Bubble and the guys. And mine is completely standard. Same dip in power, due to coilpack, and also got told the actuator was probably alittle tired these days. After all, the car is getting on abit now.
