| National Events Coordinator and East Yorks area rep Area Rep Membership No. 286 | Not the best of things to have a guide about, but it could be useful to someone Really easy job to do. You will need a 10mm socket set, a Phillips screwdriver and some clear sealant Open your boot and you will see that inside the boot lid there is some carpet stuff that just makes it look better than metal. ![]() Take this off by using the Phillips to undo the little plastic fasteners (they are dotted everywhere. ![]() Once you have the carpet cover off locate 2 10mm bolts, these are indicated by the red circles, the blue one is a holding grommet. Get your 10mm socket and undo the nuts holding the spoiler in place, you will have to do the same on the other side. Things to be aware of here, it is dead easy and annoying to drop the nuts into the inside of the boot lid, so be careful when taking them out, also try not to have the boot lid fully open as you don't want the spoiler falling off when you take the last bolt out and smashing your rear window. You may have to use a bit of force to remove the spoiler, it will come off. ![]() Once removed, tidy up the areas that the original spoiler came from ![]() You may have to remove a bit of rust and paint the areas that have been treated ![]() Next get your sealant and apply a thin line all around the base of your new spoiler, not too close to the edges as it will press out when you bolt it into place I used this stuff, £2.90 from a local car shop. ![]() Now position the new spoiler into place and carefully screw 1 bolt back on and then on the other side, then the final 2. Make sure that no sealant has been pressed out from under the spoiler, if so clean it off quickly with warm water. ![]() Put the boot liner back on. Job done ![]() ![]() |

| Club Treasurer & Essex Rep. Administrator Membership No. 107 | When I did mine it was still held on by the two centre plastic locating lugs and I had to close their legs in with long nose pliers to get the spoiler completely off - very fiddly ![]() Oh and yes I did manage to lose a couple of nuts inside the bootlid sections ![]() If you put some grease inside the socket that you use to undo the nut, it should keep hold of the nut ![]() |
