pretty good MPG, but not for long ??

As some of you may be aware ( cause i've not mentioned it many times ), i took my car to Andy at SP Autos today and i think it was around 235 miles door to door.

I filled up the tank, approx 55 litres, this morning ( it was on empty just about before i filled up ) and when i got to Andy the fuel level was just under 1/2 tank.

( does the R33 GTST have a 60ltr tank ? )

so i reckon i used approx 30 - 35 litres of fuel to get there, so the MPG worked out as :

gallons = 30 - 35 litres divided by 4.54 = 6.6 - 7.7 gallons used.

MPG = 235 miles divided by 6.6 - 7.7 gallons = 30 - 35 miles per gallon.

I did virtually the whole journey on the motorways, maybe 25 miles on a roads, and i was doing 70 - 75mph all the way.

bloody good i reckon, but lets see what it is on the way home ?

andy.

Thats piss poor granny driving, you should be ashamed

I've never managed that many from mine. I reckon you won't make it home with a tank

I'm lucky to get 20 MPG, even on the motorway.

Kin'ell Andy! I don't think I even saw that kind of mileage in a 1.0L 16v Micra!

Are you sure with a right foot as light as yours that the 3037 will ever spool up?

Gareth, that's low unless it's purely tracktime. Time to get the spanners out I think.

Jacqui regulalry gets around 300 miles to a tankful in hers, mostly motorway driving. I used to expect around 200-250 to a tank from mine with a bit more of an urban mix

.

well i reckon i can halve the MPG with my new set up, i was driving sensibly i must admit , it was raining and i didn't want to get the car wetter by driving fast......

i don't generally drive fast ( SO WHY HAVE A SKYLINE THEN ), BUT i do like to go for a blast, i love accelaration, not really interested in top speed, so i'll be trying out plenty of accelaration on the way home....

Geoff, with his old power, saw 7mpg around Snetterton race track while giving it some serious stick.
