Seen this on a few other car forums, you have to set your group up then everyone puts down their location so you know who's in your area

might be a bit cheesy for some

but I think its a good idea and it would stop all the posts saying "does anyone live in ****** " they could just look at the map then PM someone about it instead

I got a feeling that this has been done, but not sure if that is the site.
Was back in the dim and distant (at least three months ago) on the SO side

There is a googlemap hack which I have installed that allows you to put the information in your forum profile, and then appears on a googlemap within the forum.

The reason I haven't activated it is it's open to abuse. Someone knows what car you have, and where you live......

Still I like the idea of knowing who else is in your area.
