    Tein decision

I need to renew my Tein Flex coilovers as both rears are leaking and the fronts have cracked top mounts. It has been sugested that I could consider 'Super Streets'. I was just wondering if that would be a wise decision and was wondering what advantage or disadvantage this would create. I understand that the ride would generally be softer but I could quite easily stiffen that, up if required, using the EDFC. I tend to run on the softest setting most of the time anyway and the ride is quite hard even then.

Opinions and advice would be gatefully received.

    Set up at the moment.

    Tein Flex coilovers
    EDFC in-car damping controller
    Whiteline anti-roll bars
    Cusco front links
    Cusco Rear links
    Tein Pillow ball tension rods
    Volk Racing GT-C 19”x10.5” with 275/30-19 tyres

Pete I had the Super Streets fitted to my GTT and they were excellent. The car felt really planted and on the softest setting pretty comfortable.

Cheers for that Stevie, Iwas just wondering if the Flex coilovers were fitted for a particular reason. I expect Mark would be the best person to answer that. Hopefully he will pick up on the post. If not I'll PM him.

Another vote from me for Super Streets and EDFC. I have it set to 8 for front and rear and even that is pretty comfortable.

I have Tein Super Streets - I HIGHLY recconmend them. They are great on "soft" setting for road use and even better when adjusted for "Hard" settings for track use.

Personaly speaking, I'd use the Tein EDFC like Rich has, it makes adjusting SOOOOOO much easier and is VERY cool when you can just push a few buttons whilst on the go.

Another vote here for the Super Streets. Mine are on the softest setting and as you know its running on 19"s aswell.
Cannot fault them, and the ride is so much better than my old JIC Magic coilovers.
    Go for it Pete

Another vote from me, I find them to be very good even on the softest setting it still handles nicely.

That's a big enough vote for the Super Streets for me.

My minds made up. Super Streets it is.

    Thanks everybody for the input.

I have them but wasnt convinced by the EDFC , mine made little difference and i run mine almost fully soft on the road and just wind them up on track takes two minutes as i only adjust the front leave the back in a slightly soft setting all the time

Even fully soft the roads around here still put my fillings at risk

so Tiens good , EDFC not convinced
    Now drives an Evo 6

    No more 11's

    Completely missed this thread Pete
To be honest, when I put the Flex on it was purely a case of info available at the time. A few guys were running Flex on a 33 at the time but the Super Streets, at least in the newer form with the EDFC compatability were a relatively unkown quantity.
I went with the softer springs available for the UK market and found it tolerable, however if the Super Streets are a little softer still, then they're probably a good bet.
I used to be someone around here!
Now I'm quite happy being no-one somewhere else.

    Normal services will resume....eventually.

Hi Mark, thanks for posting up. Got the car back from Abbey today with the Super Streets duly fitted.
Car feels nice and planted and I'm really pleased with the ride.
    Good value too.
I'm actually running on the stiffest setting on the EDFC at the moment which feels very similar to the softest setting on the Flex ones.

Had the car serviced while it was in and also had the clutch looked at as a couple of times there was some slippage when the boost came in. Abbey couldn't find anything specifically wrong so they just cleaned it up and put it all back. Couldn't really afford a clutch as well at the moment anyway. At least I know that there is nothing sinister going on in that department.

Hope every thing is well with you and yours.
