R33 GTS-t stuck on low boost

finaly got round to fitting a boost gauge to my standard gts, but i'm only getting 4-5psi boost

I was thought that the boost was ment to go up to 7psi after 4500rpm.

i have replaced the boost control solenoid but still the same (have not yet tested new solenoid).

anyone any ideas

I have tried a manual boost bleed valve and i can up the boost with that but it gains a misfire at 4,500 rpm, still think actuator is worth a look at?

Well it can't hurt, take it off and test it for when it opens.

That won't be a missfire by the way, sounds like boost cut.

Either this possibility by priority check:

1. Hose leak (boost or i/c)
2. Intercooler leak
3. Turbine blown, Fin wreck
4. Weak actuator
5. Solenoid malfunction
6. Lost engine compression (Headgasket leak/blown)

Normal boost kick in about 3000rpm, 0.5bar (7psi) ...peak on 3rd gear full throttle 0.7 bar (10PSI) at 5500rpm when VTC kick in.STD ECU comes with Boost cut feature at 0.9bar (13PSI)
