r33 rb20e shortshifter help please

i was told a short shifter for a s13 would fit my rb20e gearbox as they are almost the same .i ordered one of ebay that said it would also fit.took the surround and gaiters off, looks exactly the same size and shape just one thing that is different on the new short shifter there are 6 12mm bolt holes and on my original one 5 are 12mm and one is a 18mm.has anyone any experience with these gear boxes ,if i undo all these bolts nothing is going to drop out .all i want to do is to have a look to see if i can drill the hole out in the new short shifter to make it fit, any help would be appreciated, thanks alan
