    power steering

    hi, there i have a r33gts25t 1996 which has got a bad groaning noise coming from the power steering ive checked the fluid ok, no leaks, any ideas please!

    Could be the bearing in the pump it went on ours (The GTR) easy and cheap enough to fix once you have the pump off.

    The part number for the bearing is 6202,2RSR

    I know it says you have checked the fluid level so don't take this the wrong way, but did you just look at the bottle or dip the fluid level ? only reason I say is when mine first did this there was a stained mark around the bottle when I looked at it
    but when I dipped it it was very low

    I know it's probably just me that has made this school boy error but I thought Id throw it in the mix

    oh and mine was only lossing a very small amount from the large nut on the steering rack

    I agree if its not right to the max then they can "groan" and that can be worse in winter. You can get power steering lube or just change the fluid
    It was dyslexia that made me kick her bunting

    AbbeyMotorsport ECR33 with RB30, FCON Pro, 500bhp @ 1 bar. The R is quite nippy too
