I try and use V-power but, to be honest, if I can't get any I'm happy to put any super in.

If you have a standard ECU, it will be expecting 100 ron fuel as thats what they have in Japland, so higher the better. If you have an after market ecu you should use whatever it was mapped on in my book.

Something i noticed on the tesco advert thats on the TV at the moment when advertising the 5p a litre off when you spend £50 on shopping.

They show a picture of 3 fuel pumps , im sure the super unleaded pump has a sticker on it saying 97....

Any body else noticed this or is it just me ??

Ray

I know it`s all been tried and tested, but surely with the standard ecu`s learning capability and knock sensing it should be able to adjust for other fuel. I`m sure it will run into problems with too many variables ie, breathing mods plus boost raised. But on an engine running basic mods i would have thought it would cope.

Feel free to kick me if i`m wrong.

Obviously i understand the problems with and aftermarket ecu as it can`t adjust for these variables.

If the standard ECU detects DET, it switches to another map with less ignition advance and chucks in more fuel to safeguard the engine. The replacement Apexi Power FC does not have this feature, so you have to keep an eye on your DET levels. The HKS F Con pro is a piggy back, so retains the stock ECU DET control.

I use V-Power, or Tesco's 99, which I think is a bit of a con, as it's definitely more than 99p round here

the ecu will only learn from a re-set what type of fuel your running if your gonna swap n change all the time its to much hassle stick to what you commonly use. i re set mine and run on 95ron without problems because of my job situation but i do notice the lack of power
