cat sensor

went to fit me de cat pipe 2day, and found that the cat has got a sensor in it, but am f**ked if i can get it out, i dont wana mess the bolt holding it in place up, wana know firstly wot it is n does, and if i do ruinin it, will the car run with out it?

I believe its an exhaust temp sensor. Most people just tape it up under the car when they fit a decat.

Yep cat temp sensor , it will light a bulb on your dash if the temp gets too high , 900 degress i was told , so the only time it will get that high in the decat is if the car is on fire

You can unplug it under the passenger seat and simply remove it

oh right nice one cheers boys, wot bout wen i put the cat bk in for the mot, cause i will muller the nut holding it in, so doubt will b able to get it bk in.

Thats if you need the cat for an mot but you can always blank the hole off with a bolt or simply leave the temp sensor in and cable tie the wire out of the way

cool beans, will fit nxt chance get 5mins then, will try n save the senser if nt will just cut wire n cable tie out the way, think i will need the cat for the mot, anit it done on age of the import,if its older than 10years you dont need one, bt if nt then you do. just got rid of me 95 starlet gt n that went straight through with out cat

I dont think its 10 years mate, I think its cars up to 1995.

pre 95 dont need em, n any thing after do then?
