help or how to for auto folding wing mirrors

hi guys

i'm after a how to or similar of how to make my wing mirrors fold/unfold automatically when arming and disarming my cars alarm.

I met gambit some time back and he gave me the low down. But even after having a look the rough outlay from his old project style thread its not enough detail for me to go off.

I feel that someone can help me and save some money too

Someone on GTROC was making a kit to do this. I think they were sold through the GTROC shop.

Sorry I've not got back to you mate, few late nights and laptop troubles.

I've had to re-do mine as it was leaving me with a flat battery after 3 days. As soon as I can get hold of the wiring diagram again I'll post it up.

cheers mate - even if you have what you are about to have to un-do that would be a start.

Appreciate it though. Wasn't meant as a grip by anymeans (sorry if it did), just eager to do what the best do, and knowing you love your custom wiring and stuff after seeing your car pc install and custom dash screen install etc thought i would give it a go.

Cheers again

Rough diagram on what I've done now to avoid the battery drain. If your not worried about that then you can ignore relay3 and just have a permanent live going directly to relay2.

The red and black blobs are cable joints, the relays are laid out according to the key on the left. I can't remember which wire goes to which side of the motor but you will know as when its wrong the mirrors will close with the alarm de-activated.

Skyline Mk2

Have a look at post 19, it'll show you what to do with the standard switch. From memory, the wires you need to cut on the standard switch are two green ones at the bottom Best bet is to use a voltmeter on them and see which gets 12v positive on opening and which gets it on opening.

Yeah, it had me puzzled for a little while of how to provide power temporarily to drive the motor

Cheers - curious about the contact removal - not sure why you did that. Starts off reading that it allows normal operation - but then below that says about stopping the 12v feed?

I removed it as it was going to send an additional 12v to the motors which I wasn't happy about. But removing just that pin meant that the switch was still able to control the mirrors, adjusting the angle and folding them in when you want (ie, dragstrip).
