| What gearbox could I have? Can anyone tell me what other gearboxes could be fitted to an RB25? I have a 95 R33 Gtst Spec1 and suspect the gearbox in the car is not the original, when the clutch slave cylinder seal went last year we ordered a seal kit from Nissan, it was too slim for the bore, I then ordered a slave cylinder from a breakers, it was completely different, both mounting bolts were on one side, my slave cylinder has bolts on either side, eventually we took a chance on a different seal kit listed for an Almera/Cedric amongst others, it fitted fine and I forgot all about it. Im often enjoy 'enthusiastic' driving yet have never attempted to max out my car until the other day, it was an early Sunday morning and obviously I was on a private test track etc, I found myself holding flat in fifth for a while, I was very suprised to see myself at the redline (7k) with 145 showing on the Road Angel, is it me or does this seem a bit low for a Gtst, I have always felt my ratios seemed a bit close and I am always changing gear, anyone shed any light on this? |

| SNOW !!! :) Area Rep Membership No. 105 | 145 top speed sounds like RB20 box. How many bolts hold your wheels on (4 or 5) Reason I ask is to determine if you car is a GTS-t or a conversion. |

| Its 5 stud on the hub front. The car is relatively standard, just got a filter, intercooler and exhaust, theres no way I would expect it to max out in fifth with the relatively small power its running, gave me quite a suprise, not as much as when I looked at the speed mind. The car was imported by the guy I bought it off in 2007, its got GTR seats and kit, its a lovely, clean, relatively unabused example, it flew through the inspection I had done. It has got some 18" AVS rims and some very stiff Ohlins suspension, I can see where it has had a pillar pod removed at some point(and some Trust window stickers) so could possibly have had some other parts removed in Japan prior to export? Would anyone have put an RB20 box in it for some Touge style drifting? |
