Question Speedo Problem - not reading over 90mph/145kmh

Ok, heres a issue I reckon I have had since importing the car and wondered if anyone had any thoughts.

I converted my speedo to mph with a converter chip years ago, not a problem - reads mph on the clocks without any problems at any speed.

However, I fitted on of these HUD displays, been out tonight, reads fine for revs and mph but will not read above 90mph, it just stops at 90mph until you drop to below 90. I have linked into the speed and rev signal from the wires into the ECU. (Apexi PowerFC)

Now I recall when I had the standard ECU fitted with and a datascan cable plugged into the diagnosis port I had the same issue. The software wouldn't read over 90mph but thought "oh well", speedo works.
My thread here from 2006 when we were on SO.COM
http://www.******************/forum/...ghlight=speedo

Now its really bugging me whats going on!?????????

When I imported the car it was delimited straight off the boat and Im thinking the reason why it was delimited is that the ECU isnt seeing a speed over 90mph therefore never kicked in the limiter??????????

The only think thats throwing me off is that the speedo works at over 100mph+ with the converter chip behind the clocks and read over in KMH???

So theres the puzzle.

Anyone any ideas how I can get the signal to the ECU to read over 90mph or why it wouldnt?

Just an afterthought.. Im thinking the car has "something" before the signal gets to the ecu.. maybe another delimiter hiding at the source.. before the signal gets to the ECU? What would that be would such a device exist? Does the speed signal originate from the gearbox? Something on the gearbox? Like a speed signal blocker over 90mph or something...?

Interestingly enough, just found out there is a speed signal box on the side of the gearbox? hmmmmm.... interesting Mr Bond.
