i just screwed the small termnal on to a proper sized battery terminal then fitted a proper battery more suited to starting a 2.5 straight six on a cold winters morning
(which cost me less than a micra battery and its a much better battery)

I had a heavy duty Micra battery on my GTR and it was fine.

no the standard nissan battery terminal has a hole just after where the +ve lead connects (at least mine did). Nut and bolt through there to fix it to a normal size battery terminal - job done.

I chose not to use the -ve lead at all because i replaced all the other cabling at the same with thicker 0awg right through the car. I just ran a new length from the -ve on the battery to the original nissan earth point in the car (silver cable in the pic).
but you could instead just do the same with the -ve cable and just bolt a new terminal on the end.

just to show you can get almost any size battery in there (depending how big a battery you go for, you'll need to modify the battery tray also though and remove the steel divider in the middle)

i got a micra heavy duty battery, the only thing you will prob need to do is strech the clips that hold onto the terminals, because on the heavy duty ones there much bigger then standard
