electric window please help! - Skyline Owners Club

ok, my windows are playing games with me! my passenger window is fine and goes up and down like normal, however my drivers side will only go down when it feels like it. (sounds like my wife!) and i keep flicking the switch and nothing happens (still sounds like my wife!) but occasionaly it will open(...... nah) so could this be the black box behind the door card or a faulty motor? also this may seem like a silly question but would this be a MOT faliure?

please help!

I had the same problem.

I changed the black relay box & it cured it.

Not all R33's have the relay box behind the door card, I tried 8 doors & eventually got one from an R32GTR. It's a different part No but it works fine.

Try a couple of the traders on here for one.

Who did you get the relay box off?

Hi Andy.

I got my relay box from MGT racing, they keep quite a few spare parts in from cars they have broken.

If your window is working , all be it slowly, I'd say it wasn't the relay box as the relay either sends power to the motor or it doesn't, ie it's either on or off.

It could be that the mechanism needs lubricating or the motor is on it's way out.

it always goes down .... then takes ages to decide to come back up but when it does it's fine???
