R33 GTR .....Ideal offset

I'm looking to change the 17 inch Workmiester rims i have on my car for 18 inch rims, so that i can fit bigger brakes and discs. They have an offset of 10 with 2 x 3 mm spacers. What is the ideal offset which will need no modification to the arches?.. These wheels will be for sale once i get replacements .....

I think from memory and offset of around 12 to 15 is good on a 10 inch width wheel on a 33 GTR

Have a go at this Offset calculator to see if that helps, are you happy with the way the rims sit in the arches now?

9.5 X 18" or 19" the optimum offest is +12 which means there will be no issues with rubbing or the need to roll the arches. Did my homework when i bought my wheels and they are spot on and sit nicely in the arches.
10.5 wide with +12 can lead to some rubbing and the wheels touching the arches over bumps.

That will effectively make your wheels a 92 with offset +4mm (10-3-3)

If you went for 10" with +12 offset you would have

Quote:
Your new wheel will have the following chracteristics:
The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 21mm LESS
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 5mm
So you need to asses that on your car and see if you could get away with an extra 5mm outward protrusion

As Bandit says, +12 to +15 on either a 9.5" or 10" wide rim will be nice and the only rubbing you're likely to get is at full lock when the front suspension is compressed.....that's on the inside/arch liner thgouh, not the arches themselves.

As for what Pete mentions, unless you're running silly wide tyres, then you should be fine clearance wide on the inside, even with stock struts.

If you like the look of the Meisters, I do happen to have a lovely set of them in the 18" x 10" variety sat down in my basement just looking for another car to go on
Fronts are high disk too for full on maximum brake clearance

Here's what they look like in terms of fitment.

Yeah 10J with a +22 offset is fine as the wheels will sit slightly further in the outer arches, running a big break setup on those might be a different story though.

+12 on 9.5 and +15 on 10 wide are what you need if you want to run a big brake setup on 18" alloys as the calipers will clear the centres of the wheels.

Chipper, just noticed the wheels your after are +10 offset, you won't need spacers at all as putting them on will bring the wheels right past the outer wing if they are anything over 10" wide. You should just squeeze them on fine without.
