Control of my desktop is now back and constant pop up Virus alerts seem to have stopped...
AVG is a memory whore, so I wouldn't recommend it, my computer is happily protected by Windoze security, McAfee Security Suite, Adaware SE, & Ccleaner.
Moff, have you tried scanning in Safe Mode, thats always a good one, you can find a whole lot more that is usually undetectable!
Google Ccleaner to - I highly recommend this for cleaning out all the shite!
