Broken fuel gauge on R34 GTT

I recently picked up my r34 gtt but the fuel gauge is broken....ive put in 65 quids fuel and the needle just sits on 1/4 of a tank.....the fuel warning light comes on though......so at least that works lol. Just wandered if its common thing or not with these.

I have not heard of this problem before with an R34. It does sound like the sender in the fuel tank has got stuck. You could try taking it out and having a fiddle with it and see if the guage goes up.

Altorque in the trader section is breaking a GTT and might have a spare sender unit.

Could it be a connector knocked off when the limiter was fitted behind the dash ?

If fuel light works, would assume the sender is ok ?

Well the light would be on if the sender isn't picking up any fuel.. so maybe it's come loose in the tank?

the light only comes on when the petrol gets low and the limiter was fitted i imagine a couple of years ago as its been in the uk since 04 i think.
but it may have fell of or something so i will have a look. I know the car was in storage since christmas last year so maybe the fuel sensor is stuck maybe.
