My first day at the gym

The main aim is for some much needed weight reduction and possibly some strengthening of the bodywork before rust sets in

A few years back I started to go out jogging two or three times a week with a neighbour in the evening. It used to bloody knacker me and I never knew I could run so fast with him following me.......


I was trying to lose weight and he was keeping fit for is boyfriend

Set yourself managable goals Andy, don't go balls out with the Gym in your first few weeks as you'll more than likely fail to sustain it. Best of luck mate!

Good Luck mate. I need to get into better shape myself. Its just finding the time.

I've used that excuse myself but now is the time for change. I decided whilst walking Hadrians Wall Path in August that come the end of 2008 I would be a gym member

Luckily our local council has 8 gyms all in the Mid Lothian area which I will have access to for a joint membership fee of £42 per month (this includes unlimited gym and pool use) and free joining in November.

Good for you Andy...

The best way you will find is to enter into an event. Then you will make sure you train. I started with London to Brighton bike ride about 5 years ago, this year I cycled to Paris, next year 24hour cycle around the nurburg ring

Was alright if I'm honest ..... *cough*. The instructor that showed me round and did my induction was in her mid fifties and very fit for her age and managed to talk all the time she was on the equipment - and I had enough problems just breathing!

You should have aseen me on the ab crunch - now that was funny! AB crunch + belly + disaster!
