After fitting k&n filter...

Hello all,

Dont know if i am been paranoid or not,

befor i fitted my filter my car was 100% stock apart from some ngk iridum plugs it was running fine but a bit jurky on hard pull off after fitting my big k&N filter this was much better and i could tell the car was breathing much easyer,

but now i thing it might not be runing at full power when comeing on to full bost at just after 4.5k it does not seem to pull of much more then when running 5psi on standerd boost befor the 4.5 mark is this normal or has anybody had this befor or is it just me execpting to much

also i will be getting more mods in time maybe it now just needs a none restricted exhaust to flow the more air easyer

I would try an ECU Reset first and give it some stick ( on a private road of course)

just disconnect your battery..

with the battery disconnected, leave your drivers door open (or anything else that will draw power) wait a few seconds until the interior light dims out (due to the door being open), then reconnect the battery.

Thats how you reset the ecu.

And yes it will be fine. it just forces the ecu to relearn what fuel mixture / advance to use (so it will adjust to having the K&N).

Make sure your wheels are straight first and pref on level ground. Otherwise you can give the HICAS a headache.

Resetting the ECU can make a difference and it then it can't. Drive your car normally afterwards, give it a good mixture of slow stop / start and high speed runs, don't bother trying to redline it everywhere because the ECU doesn't "learn" after 4500 rpm IIRC
