A breakdown of the costs involved in Importing a Camper Van / Motorhome from Japan
Ever wondered what it would cost to import a Japanese Camper, Motorhome or any other vehicle for that matter? It's not as much hassle as you think, in fact most of it is just sitting on your bottom just waiting for the thing to arrive!
Well here are are the costs involved if you were to bring in your dream camper using SUPERCAMPER as your "import agent" .
*Remember, vehicles in Japan are MUCH cheaper than in the UK because most people get rid of old cars as it costs thousands to get cars older than 3 years through the "SHAKEN" strict MOT type test.
Here is the breakdown of costs for a nice bargain / cheap grade 3 Hiace camper that went through recently.

Start price ¥ 20 000
Winning Bid Price 265 000 ¥ (*they are currently going for less due to the bad exchange rate).
Your FOB Price 350 250 - This is the total cost of getting the camper to the Japanese Docks. It includes all the de-registration fees and Japanese Export charges, auction house fees etc.
Basically you pay for the camper in two payments. The first is the FOB which gets it to the docks on to a boat.
Then you wait 6 weeks for it to get to the UK.
And now you pay the rest (shipping, duty, vat etc.)
So its easier than paying for a car in the uk because you dont have to pay one big lump sum all at once!
Think of it of half of paid in Japan, and the last half when it gets here.
The shipping costs of a typical Toyota Hiace Hi-Top Camper is £950 to £1250
So back on track:
FOB Price 350 250 JPY
