Thumbs up Big power T78-33d powered Supra MK3!

Well modded T78-33d turbo'd MK3 Supra. Grade R (so repaired at some time)

the t78-33d turbo is rated to 720bhp on the 1JZ-GTE. Does the mk3 have the 1jz? I thought that was the Chaser / Soarer.

    Thumbs up

    Car sold for 268,000 Yen.

Thats about £4,280 on the road.

Not bad for 600 to 700bhp.

I suddenly like MK3 supras again!

For the record, ignore the MK3 supra that was available in the UK, it was shite. The 7M-GTE 3 litre single turbo of the UK was prone to head gasket failure and only make 232bhp.

Now in good old JDM market, they had the 2.5GTT which was powered by the 1JZ-GTE which is 280bhp as standard. Basically cut down and more screamy version of the 2jz-gte and still extremely tuneable.

Seen plenty of these mk3's going through with big turbos going for peanuts. Its officially the best bang for the buck car out there ... even beats the aristo!
