    Question Rear boot damper removal

Can some tell me how the bottom part of the rear boot damper is removed from the ball joint. Is there a hidden clip to remove , is if just eased off the ball or do you have to take the whole bottom boot hinge off?. Thanks

I have tried to take the damper's off an old set of hinges before, it don't work

The metal bent, twisted, cracked and snapped then I gave up.
