storage of skyline for a year???

Ok, about a month ago, i made a decision to sell the skyline, because it just wasn't being practical and in september, I will be needing to use a car every day to get me to work.
So The car got advertised and put on a few sites and on autotrader. No responses as yet, which was a shame as the car is in the most amazing conditon engine and body. However, as luck would have it, mainly due to lack of interest and the fact i'm not going to GIVE the car away, the oppourtunity has arisen for me to store the car in a garage, I plan to store the car for about 12-18months, save some pennies, get right with my house, and finish off doing some jobs on the car.

What I would like to know is what are the fundemental rules to storing a car, more importantly, my dream skyline, so that I'm not going to ruin anything, or things are going to rust up inside the engine or anything....

i know i should put the car on axle stands, so i dont bugger the wheels and suspension, but want important things should i do with the enigine...

    all help welcome...

Think carefully - could you do that though?
I have withdrawal symptons if i lieave the car for 3days and have to drive something 'practical' and dull..
If i had to leave it that long i would go bungee jumping with the cord round my neck

There was a thread about doing this on the Blue SO.com a while back.

It was along the lines of remove fluids, put a cloth somewhere, remove wheels etc..

Have a searchy on the blue forum

I have no choice to leave it, its either sell it for a stupid price, or store it for a while whilst i get my finances in order, and start my new job later on this year.

    i've have a search on t'other forum

lol @ trev, you sound bitter, had a bad experience?

Robopope could recommend a tuner that you'll loose it too for a year!

(Not the same one is it Trev?)

I reckon it will be fine, just need fresh petrol when you want to use it, can youstart it up every month ?. Dis connect battery etc, spray any bits that may rust with WD40. Cover it with a soft cover, cloth, that wont sweat. Get it in the air so the weight is off the tyres, then once a month go and visit it, turn the wheels by hand, open doors, bonnet , boot etc, check it all over, run it up if you can till its warm.
The more i see, the more i know. The more i know the less i understand.

    Yes, don't I know it!

It was quite nice seeing it in the flesh last night, you wouldn't think it's got a right animal of an engine under all that standard stuff!

L4CKL, are you storing your car in your garage or have you found somewhere to store it? if its the latter how much are you paying? I may need to do the same.

    Thanks
