its only since i have got into skylines that i hear bad things about walbros, nearly every sbody i know is running one, main downside is you may need to get a bit creative to fit them using cable ties etc

They are noisey, have a short life expectancy, the plastic is too brittle and they dont fit properly. I wouldnt have one. if you want an uprated pump get a second hand GTR one as it will last longer, be quieter and people wont think you are a ****

This is the crappy walbro pump I pulled out of my last 33, and the HKS one I replaced it with after I discovered how crap it was. The filter pickup fell off in tank so I ran out of fuel with over a 1/4 tank left.

    You can see the difference

    Then there's this...

Basically to get 255lph out of the pump you need to run 16.5v through it.

    There my reasons for hatred

    Walbro's suck big style.

That isn't a reference to their ability too shift fuel by the way.

Go with a big brand Jap name such as Nismo, HKS or even the likes of a Bosch 044 like the Cossie guys use.
There is no such thing as cynicism, it is merely realism born out of experience.

i have NEVER heard of a walbro failing, ok you need some cable ties but with a bit of bodging they are good!

I have a gtr pump in my 32 (thast noisy as well) and will be taking it out for a walbro, feel safer with a new fuel pump than a old one

Buy a tomei or hks as you get what you pay for as gambit posted up to get the stated flow from the pump you need to put 16v into it and considering the alternator only gives out 14.4v for charging the battery and running everything else .
