What if I used R33 GTR Brembo? Do they need sleeves, as I read somewhere the R34 GTR one does need sleeves.. I presume upping the calipers won't affect ABS would it or require a bigger master cylinder? I'm intending on defo doing the fronts, but unsure about the rear as some good pads and discs should be OK for rear or should I go all out and Brembo all round?

    Thanks

Mine are 33gtr brembo's and needed sleeving

You wont need a bigger master cylinder but you will need a master cylinder stopper as the bulkhead flexes when stomping on the brakes

As for the rears the 33gtst calipers are a good and cheap upgrade - you can pick them up for about £50 a pair

I would drill the hub out as I have had issues with my R34s that had were sleeved and ended up removing them.

Only thing to watch is you get a bit of movement around the master cylinder and it would be advisable to get a stopper.

I am thinking of going up to r34 rears as well but only for looks really as the the setup I have just now will get you real personal with the dashboard / windscreen.

I am not sure what Mel was meaning but I meant drill the two holes on the hub out to take the m14 bolts required for the R34s and not put thread inserts in to convert them from m14 to m12 which is standard size on the stagea. Note I am not sure what the R33 bolts (M12?) are but the R34s are M14.

Mel is this what you are getting at or are you talking about a sleeve on the bolt as the hole in the hub is bigger than the bolt?

    yep R33's are M12 iirc

The bolts that hold the caliper to the rest of the car need sleeving. Andy W can do you a set of properly milled sleeves that fit like a glove

the holes on the stagea hub are M14 so R34 brembos will fit just fine as they have an M14 bolt

when using R33 brembos or GTS-T calipers the caliper bolt is M12, the sleeve is needed to 'square' up the caliper to the disc

Ah fully understood now! But R34 Brembo cost an absolute fortune >_<

Best stick with the R33 then.. Discs will just go straight onto hub I presume?

    Thanks for the advice guys

Oh and PM coming your way Andy (again)

Cheers. I am going to respray it when i find the right colour but other than that its working pretty well so far. Pedal feel has certainly improved although i know think i need to rebleed the brakes - pedal feels a little long.

    Hope you like the decal
