Help! Greddy turbo boost beeping & going red!

    Hi all
just after getting over a coil pack problem it seems i have a problem with my turbo or greddy turbo boost?
the cars a r34 gtt i bought it a year ago, it already had stage 1 tuning which included a greddy turbo boost, the cars been running smoothly other than a recent coil pack failure which after replacing all coil packs it solved the prob
    the new prob is....
on a recent drive from southampton to london i was driving the car quite hard on the return journey when i put my foot down the turbo boost display would beep & flash red
on my way to work this morning i was overtaking on a duel carriageway at about 50mph & the same things happening again
since owning the car i have not changed any of the settings on the boost nor have i driven it in high boost, its always in low mode

whats your thoughts guys? turbo prob? or greddy boost prob?

thanks in advance for any advice

I had the same problem and as you i never used it on high boost always on low so i just switched the sam thing off because I couldn't work out what was wrong and now all is fine again all be it i don't have the digital boost controller, but least if i overtake it doesn't cut out on me.

I had the same problem on Honeys GTT and it turned out to be the Greddy boost controller was knackered

If it is that, RSP can send them off to Japan and get them repaired.

Thats interesting i've been having problems with mine , i put it down to the cold weather but i've been unable to get the boost stable on the high setting , on the low setting its fine and dandy and no different to the pressures i run during summer

Been looking for an excuse to buy a Gizmo (spl?) anyhow

It sounds like it's hitting the max. boost settings and triggering the alarm.

Make a note of the readings and post them up...

If you scroll through with the Mode button for the pre-set settings, and then just watch the screen for the on-the-move readings.

    update!

just spoke to scott at abbey motorsport
he ran through the settings on the greddy all was as it should be
he suggested i turn the greddy off & drive the car without keeping my eye on the display to see that it didnt go anywhere near 1.2
it didnt go anywhere near it & drives fine but lacking that extra bit of turbo boost
am i loosing that much power by not having the greddy switched on?
so sounds to me like it is the unit thats faulty

    any other ideas guys?

I would do as Bubble suggested, contact Rising Sun Performance about the unit. They can send it off to Japan for repair, which is what we did with mine.
I had awful problems with mine regarding acclerating, everytime you tried to acclerate, even gently the blooming car would cough and splutter along.

As suggested, might just be youo are hitting the alarm trigger point.

With all the cost weather, Turbo cars are going to potentially boost more.

Any idea what the alarm limit is set at ?

Good idea to turn it off to be safe, maybe try turning it on again when it gets warmer..

so if i turn it off i can drive it as normal can i?
will the car then run as the factory set it to?
