REVAMP ADVERT TIME !!!
So where do I start ... AGAIN
As I said before in the previous advert this was going to be the Skyline I had forever. Eighteen months of searching & researching for the right base model for my Skyline project including the blood, sweat, tears & waiting … this was it! The car started off as a June 1994 Nissan Skyline 2.5 GTS-T Type M with a 3.5 grade at auction due to some minor paint imperfections & a clear report on theft & crashes too. It was imported from Yokohama in Japan to the docks at Bristol by a small family run importers called NICE NEW CAR LIMITED based on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors. Jo & Franc did all the legwork from my decision to buy the car after seeing it on their website to the day I picked her up. Upon arrival at the NICE NEW CAR HQ, the car was driven, tested & inspected for any faults or defects. The few that were found were rectified (cosmetic work on a snapped radio ariel which was removed & relocated!) & the car was given a full service by the local Nissan dealer who catered for Skylines. All belts including the CAM belt & fluids were also replaced. Apart from one new tyre no other problems were found & a clean bill of health was given. Then it was valeted inside & out, MOT’d, road taxed for twelve months & awaited my collection! It also came with twelve months warranty & the only problem was the passenger door lock failing about six months later which was replaced. Here she is in Japan just before being placed in the container :
So since import, it has only had only one UK owner which is me! Since then this car has been treated with nothing but love & respect that only your dream ‘hayday & holiday’ car can be treated with! The car is dry stored during winter in secure accommodation & checked weekly by myself. When it comes out of hibernation it is 'ALWAYS' fully serviced & fully inspected with any problems (there have been none apart from kicking out a few spiders!) being immediately attended to! Then it is fully valeted inside & out.
All servicing has been carried out either by ABBEY MOTORSPORT, RK TUNING or last year by ABBEY’s former technician & dyno guru Dan who had started his own company called ATEUK. The car has been dyno’d twice at ABBEY MOTORSPORT, the first time to set up the boost controller which equated to about 300 BHP at the fly ( have the sheets ) & the second time just to check all was well with the engine! Other companies that have also carried work or fluid changes mid season have been INNOVATE PERFORMANCE, KAI PERFORMANCE & D2! If the fluids weren’t supplied by the various garages I have always used SILKOLINE bought through OPIE OILS who are another well known & respected name.
From the off besides being my dream car that I always wanted, the main purpose was to create a show car that was also usable & set up for fast road use with a drift/street race look. Coming from Cornwall I go home about four times plus a year, so apart from driving to meets, shows & events this is the only other time I use the car! Anyway to cut a long story short I then met Gary at JAPSALON & after some negotiations a deal was done to use my Skyline as the base for another of his creations as a JAPSALON Demo Car which you see today. The original plans were outrageous but we toned them down to make it more usable & if you ask me in person nicely I may just bore you with the story! Gary has also been responsible for some interior work too! :
After the creation the car has managed to attract other sponsors including :
ECLIPSE CAR AUDIO – Tony is the former winner from many sound off competitions when ICE first became fashionable to be put in your car in the UK. Tony has also been responsible for all the electrical work & the interior tidy up plus his infamous finding & clearing of fifteen metres of unconnected & unnecessary cabling! Fifteen metres !!!
ATEUK – As of last year former technician & dyno guru Dan set up his own business in the setup & servicing of performance vehicles. From 2008 Dan sorted everything out mechanically for my car but due to moving on to tune race cars for a living as company called D2 have now taken over.
There is a huge box of documentation to do with my car since its collection including most if not all invoices, receipts, MOT’s etc to provide as much service history as I could since import. Last July I had an infamous high speed blow out on the M25 of the rear onside tyre making me the only honorary member of the GTROC M25 Drift Club! It was caused due to shrapnel from a previous crash that week embedded in the motorways tarmac! When the tyre was removed we all whistled at the shrapnel! From that incident I had four new tyres along with the tracking & alignment checked carried out by ELITE TYRE & ACCESSORIES in Rainham, Essex. D2 also carried out a full inspection of the car which was given the thumbs up! In terms of the cars condition & performance many people can vouch for it. Alex Creasy at SERIOUS PERFORMANCE will be one of the first to tell you how clean I keep car as I buy my vehicle cleaning products from him! All mileage since import as mentioned before has been long distance on fast roads whether travelling to & from shows, events or to my home county of Cornwall. So NO weekly shopping trips for this car! It has never been used in a track day & has only did six, yes six drag/standing/rolling starts at BRUNTINGTHORPE about three years ago for a feature in J-TUNER Magazine with the GTROC!
At import the car was showing just over 67K on the clock & I've always had a five thousand mile a year cap on it with the insurance. However after import when it was converted from KPH to MPH as well as to delimit the car, the mileage on the clock was not converted. At last years MOT is was showing just under 85K so I'll let you do the maths!
Modification wise I have taken the car to what I call stage one point five, but the spec list is below! Most of the time the car is driven with the four stage boost controller switched off, but there have been occasions for some upped boost pressure on the private sections of the UK’s motorways! Hampshire constabulary once thanked me for stopping on the way back from Cornwall … on a private stretch to admire the car of course! The spec list is as follows :

The car has been very reliable & just eats the mileage with a good return for a Skyline on petrol! I once managed Kent to Telford & then ‘Taunton Deane’ services on the M5 on one tank of petrol with an hours delay & stop/start on the M1! Obviously the use of careful acceleration, economy speeds & keeping it off boost were involved but that’s dam good none the less! Handling is superb but as with all rear wheel drives with some power caution & skill are required.
I appreciate the economy currently, the recession both here & in Japan & other factors but this is one well looked after Skyline as many will vouch for who have seen her. I’ve always made sure the engine is warmed up & cooled down before starting or switching off the engine. It’s never been left to idle unnecessary & I have continued the no crash/no theft policy too! Here are some interior shots :
Promises from the last advert have been carried out now which included :
• A new battery.
• Inspection & check over.
• New light bulbs as two had gone in the offside rear lights!
• A full clean & valet inside & out over the Easter weekend - as you can see above.
• Front DO-LUCK bumper fully resprayed - removal of stone chips & a low granite rock on the A38 ... bloody thing …
I also welcome any RAC or AA inspections, it is HPi clear & there is no money or finance outstanding on it either for those of you that have asked so far. So what you ask am I’m asking?
£6,450
