    Tein uk rip off

    Has anyone had any bad experience with tein uk.
    I've had tein type RE on my car for 3 years now and all was well. But after a recent trip to the ring the left rear shocker started to knock. On inspection the fluid had started to leak.
    After sending them to tein uk. They sent an email saying explaining that the type RE is no longer manufactured and as it was a not sold in the uk. Because it was not sold in the they did not have the correct tools to dismantle the shocker..UMM!
    Explaining that it would have to be sent to japan and as this would not be cost effective it would be more beneficial to buy new up to date monoflex..

    Has anyone heard of so much b..lls..t..
    This goes for previous tein models that are no longer sold too.
    The questions that arise are:
    What's the point of opening tein uk if they can't service customers suspension.
    : do they ever consider repeat custom
    :why can japan still service discontinued models
    Oh and even if they can service your suspension they won't send any sub main dealers( garages selling on behalf of tein uk) the parts. As it's not there policy.....So you have to pay there expensive rebuild costs..

    Sounds like they want all the cake...

    I have heard a few times that JDM Tein suspension is different from UK Tein and cannot be serviced / repaired in the UK

    Jap stuff runs a 12.5mm shaft, and uk a 12mm shaft or something like that meaning all the seals are different.

    Any suspension overhaul you are looking at GBP85 a corner plus, so they are probably not talking too much ****.

    I have the same with my HKS suspension and Kei Office, except mine only need the rubber top mounts, but will have to be sent to Japan for this?

    Well you could always try to source the repair kit from Japan and get a UK specialist to carry out the work?
