    TOTB this year

    Morning all,

As summer is marching on I feel its time we got our team together and submitted our entry. The closing date is 2nd July and the organiser has indicated that if we can get a strong team of 10 cars we will be able to run them all. I think its appropraire that we close the entry on Monday 19th June and all forms must be submitted before then.

Copy of the entry form can be found here http://www.totb.co.uk/compete/TOTB5.pdf

    Copy of the rules.

Ten of the Best and Scoobyshootout events are aimed at road going cars and as such are open only to road legal, taxed tested and insured road vehicles.

All competitors must present their driving license, V5 log book, current road tax and valid MOT for their vehicle on the day at sign on. Non-road legal cars (or those with competition log books) are not allowed.

All vehicles must pass a safety inpsection and the drivers must attend the safety briefing prior to the event start.

All Trophy /class winning cars will be checked for compliance and legality after the event but prior to the trophy presentation. Additional random checks will be made to competitor vehicles during the event to ensure compliance.

Road tyres must be used with legal tread depth at all times. Competitors should check with us on legality of a particular make/type of tyre if there is any doubt as to it's acceptability.
Generally only D.O.T marked tyres with a road tread depth/pattern are allowed, so please get in touch if you have any specific queries regarding legality.

Crash helmets are required to compete, seat belts or harnesses (if fitted) must be worn and arms/legs must be covered up at all times while driving.

Any driver or car not complying with the rules may be excluded from the event on the day.

Performance enhancing modifications and Nitrous are of course allowed but cars must run in "road legal trim", ie with working lights, wipers, handbrake etc. Contact us with any specific queries prior to the event.

If you atre interested please PM me with an indication of proven or past performance and we will start to collate a list. If you are selected to compete on behalf of the club you will need to complete the entry form and return it as soon as possible with full entry paymant.

No performance figures yet but will obviously post following Rotorstock.
Will be able to run top speed (although limited to 186) & drag.
If needed I will also run around the handling circuit although with solid suspension etc the car will be crap.

Well my Mickey Thompson Street Drag tyres don't have a D.O.T. marking on them. I bought these off Keith Cowie - have they changed the rules since last year?Click here to enlarge

Bubble ... they say the same every year ... no drag tyres, pump fuel etc ... then the big guns turn up with their stripped-out trailer queens running exotic fuel mixes and the rule book seems to get lost. So much for road cars Click here to enlarge

Well, it has been on the cards for a while but I have not wanted to admit it to myself as much as anyone else Click here to enlargeClick here to enlargeClick here to enlarge

Seeing as I am still off completion by some time due to a hold up on engine parts I am well and truely out of contention to enter. I am not 'that' bothered that my car won't be ready but I really wanted to represent the club again and to say i am pissed off about it is an almighty understatement.

Good luck to all the guys that manage to enter
