Not driven the car 100miles yet and have been tugged

Oh the joy..... Got Pulled over today while on my way to leave her in Andys capable hands.

Tbh i knew he was gonna do it as he had just let a audi go as we drove past.. being traffic police i knew it would flash up with no MOT so he came flying up and asked me to pull into the nearest lay by, so i obliged as did tony who was following me up in his cossie, luckily i was on my way to SPA and had the address and phone number to hand.. explained that it was going in for repairs etc etc and after he checked my details he kindly let me go on my way. The guy was really nice and we had a good old natter. Im glad hes doing his job and i didnt resent him for tugging me after all its drivers with not mot, tax and insurance that make all of you law obiding folks insurance so high but i was just soooo embaressed, everyone was staring, must have put 2 and 2 together and got 7 although must have looked dodgey with a skyline and cossie.

anyway hopefully i wont have a reason for them to pull me over the next time i take her out.

Hey, not all bad. You got to drive her again and was able to answer proudly in the affirmative when asked "Is this your vehicle miss?" Certainly nowt to be embarrassed about Click here to enlarge

id say he did his job properly. He wasnt aquard with you and had a genuine reason for pullin you over. I generally had no probs in the Skyline and never got pulled. (apart from when I was parked up and Captain Jobsworth decided to try and give me a £1000 fine for my Plates). At least you had what I would call a "Proper Policeman" pull you over and use a bit of common sense.

The bottom line is Police are simply human and being human like most people they are lazy , if they see a car that looks dodgy they will pull it especially if there isnt tax or mot on it.

Keep you car in good condition with legal plates, quiet'ish exhaust and no stickers and it doesnt matter what age you are you wont be pulled unless you are driving a really expensive car late at night

Stickers and what looks like a badly crash repaired car or driving like a loon is a good way to get police attention Click here to enlargeClick here to enlargeClick here to enlarge. Its all about appearance

as with all trade policy's if its yours and are using it on the road you have to inform them of the reg number so it should show up on the data base this has to be done within 14 days. even if you are not using the car on the road but have owned it for 2 weeks you need to inform them or they WILL NOT payout for any claim

in this case the car was being driven to an MOT station, it is legal to drive to a pre booked appointment without Tax or MOT as long as the vehicle is insured by the person driving it, and there isn't a limit on how far you can travel
