I swapped my R34 pump for an R33 one once, and am sure that it was just the pulley that was different. Swapping the R33 pulley with the R34 (same stud pattern) was no good as the offsets were different, so I just bought a 4 ribbed belt to fit.

I don't remember the pipework being a problem though Andy?

I vaguely remember not being 100% happy with something though, so ended up putting the R34 pump back on and just bleeding the system properly

So just double check your pump is shagged, as I thought the same with mine originally! They are pigs to bleed sometimes

the pulley is a press on fitment, the banjo is set at a different angle on the pressure pipe and bigger

I know my memory is bad, so I'd love to know what the hell I did then

I know i was sent another Skyline pump, and when it didn't marry up ideally i had to change pulleys and belts... I can 100% remember the hassle tracking down the right length ribbed belt as i think the pulleys were different diameters to!

Well I have tried bleeding the system and there was a bit of air trapped in there! It's certainly reduced the noise coming from the pump but not completely though, still a little bit groany! I'm not that clued up on power steering systems so how would I be able to tell if the pump is totally shot?
