    cams

    what would be the best cams to go for in my gtst?

    and wat degrees should i go for?

    im aiming for 450bhp

    yes i have got some to go in mine, they are about £350 - 400 if i remember rightly from nengun
    There is an empty space on my drive :-(

    someone might disagree with me but unless you are going huge hp I don't see a lot of good reasons to change the exhaust cam as you won't get much benefit, so personally I'd just replace the inlet cam. Should be cheaper if you can buy them separately.

    but like I say someone may disagree with me!

    as im having a rebuild too, are you saying it wouldnt be worth me doing it? I like the lumpy idle

    The tomei's I have are only a little more aggressive than stock. If you went for the same you'll generally find a bit more low down / mid range torque (Turbo will spool up a bit quicker) with hardly any loss at the top end of things.

    i have a stage one hybrid which should be good for 450bhp. i was thinking going for 280 degree cams will be a bit lumpy on idle but good mid and top range. plus lumpy idle sounds good. wont sound like a ice cream van then

    280's will require lots of work on the head, have you looked into what is required ?

    The work required I would imagine relates to engineering the head for them to actually fit. I've around 425ath and I use the 256's. They go straight in.
