Shell V-Power Ireland

Hey all,

I just found out from calling Shell that Shell V-Power in Southern Ireland is only 95 Octane!

They say the UK stuff is higher, but Ireland is just 95!

Damn, i thought I was sorted, now I will have to use 95 + Octane Booster!

Do you not have any other major petrol supplier with 97 and above to choose from? Not Esso/BP or other garages?

That sucks that... wonder why they do that..

So, it is also possible to get a tanker going to the wrong place over here, so we get 95 stuff to.

The reason is that the government put a horrendous tax on anything over 95octane.

Apparently because it has detergents to clean your engine and make it more efficient.

Shell should sell it as V-Clean for all the good it would do a performance car.
