    Question Check engine light

This came on briefly last night,(twice) as i was going to work! It came on as revs. went to 6,900,But today it didn't come on at all.Any reason for this? Knock level on PFC at 6,900 revs. was 30(normal?).Engine seems fine,no missing etc.Anyone else had this light on?What was the reason? It's the yellow light top right of dash, pic. of engine with words "check"

Thats the det light but shouldnt be coming on with that knock level , i have only seen mine come on once with a knock level of 94 , even the little spikes i sometimes get dont make it flash

IIRC Richard set mine to come on at 60 might be worth giving him a call

Just spoke to RSP,and you're right(set at 60).Maybe the fact that i used a different shell garage to fill up last time has something to do with it?(still v-power though). That 30 knock reading was from this morning, not last night(i forgot to look!) so maybe it did register higher then?

I have a Z32,so don't think it's that. Must be small amount of det I'll fill up at my usual place and keep an eye on it.

    Does sound like det then

Mines all sorted now and no engine light flash, it would never have been det as I only get a reading of 15 from the PFC

Inlet temps should be considered as well, especially with heatsoak after it's had a good thrashing and then your back on the throttle again so soon.

Yes, I know the PFC can't read inlet temps, (Well without a modification of two) but it can still be a factor with Det.

Im sure I read the knock lights comes on at 60 with PFC's, not 30.

Other reasons the PFC activates the ECU light is AFM maxing out and Injectors over 80%?

I didnt know that, do you need the software to do this then I guess as it doesnt appear to be a setting I can see.

    Heres the bumf on standard.

If the AIRFLOW WARN is set to ON the engine light will flash when the airflow value gets near its ceiling limit of 5 volts.
If the INJECTOR WARN is set to ON the engine light will flash when the injector duty values gets to 98%
If the KNOCK wARNING is set to ON the engine light will flash when the knock level exceeds 60
