The Seventh National Skyline Meet
This year's event will be held at the Ace Cafe.
Dating back to 1938 The Ace Cafe was just a 'regular caf' on the North Circular Road in London. Because of its location it soon became a magnet for motorcycles and enthusiasts. As a result of being damaged during the second worlds war it had to be completely rebuilt. The end result was a much bigger cafe and a huge parking area. In 2001 the Cafe was completely rebuilt again only this time even bigger and better! Today it is a regular place for car clubs and bike clubs alike and, of course, the home of Fifth Gear
Every year we try and do something different with the meet. Initially it was held at the Motor Museum at Gaydon but since then it has been evolving. Two years ago we held the meeting in the East Midlands at the Donington Motor Museum and last year we had the fantasticaly memorable Parade Lap (also at Donington). For this year we've headed South to NW London. We hope those of you who live some distance will still want to make the journey to the famous cafe and join in the fun. Why not make a long weekend of it and stay in London for the duration? If you're looking for hotels maybe The Organisation can arrange some group booking discounts for you. We will certainly try.
Last year we proved that you don't need to travel at high speed or misbehave to have fun. The Parade Lap proved that a load of Skylines together can be enjoyed at a gentler pace as well. The National Skyline Meet is the big joint social event of the year so don't miss out. If you do come, please bear in mind we wont tolerate any bad driving at or around the cafe and that donuts, high speed driving and anything else inappropriate is not acceptable.
See you all at the Ace Cafe on 22 September.
